Paper Plate Spider
| Paint a paper plate black, gray, or any other dreary
color. For the legs, attach eight pipe cleaners or strips of
construction paper. Cut out eyes from a piece of construction paper
and glue to the plate. Attach a string to the spider to hang it in a
doorway or window. |
 |
Ghastly Ghosts
| For each ghost, pull apart a sheet of two-ply tissue, making
two separate sheets. Roll one sheet into a ball. Put it in the
center of the other piece of tissue (for more weight, use a paper
towel). Gather the tissue together and tie with string, rubber band,
yarn, or twist tie. Use a fine tip marker to draw eyes and a mouth
on the ghost's head. Use black thread or string to dangle the
specters throughout the house. |
 |
Spider Web
| Cut a piece of construction paper to fit in the bottom of a
disposable pit tin. Place about a half teaspoon of white paint in the
middle of the paper. Let your child drop a marble into the pan and
roll it back and forth. As he marble passes through the paint, it
will create an intricate design. Let the paint dry, then glue on
tiny plastic spiders. Take the paper out of the pie tin and
tape the spider web in the corner of a window. |
 |
Witch's Broomstick
| Tape two or more empty paper towel tubes together to make a
broom handle. Cut off the bottom of a paper grocery bag and cut
fringes in one side. Roll the uncut side of the paper bag around the
bottom of the tubes, attach with tape, then tie with string. your
child can personalize the broom by drawing and coloring on the bag before
you make the fringes. |
